Beginning Strings
This course provides an introduction to, and drills in, the basic skills of playing a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass). Emphasis is placed on the individual student’s ability to produce a good tone, play in first position on all four strings, and have basic skills in reading music. Students are given an introduction to ensemble playing by performing in at least one public concert.
Students are required to participate in at least one public concert.

Pay to Particpate: Purchase of textbooks (not to exceed $10) is required
Performance Attire: white shirt/blouse and black knee-length skirt or longer/black dress slacks and black dress shoes (girls); white shirt and black dress pants with black socks and black dress shoes (boys)
