Letter from Our Principal
On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration of Walnut hills High School, greetings to the multitude of talented students, parents and prospective families in our school community. Thank you all for your interest in our school.
How fortunate we all are that such a unique and special school exists for children to learn, families to engage and educators to find professional fulfillment. Certainly, our community leaders had clear foresight in the late 19th century when they conceptualized a school that would bring together highly talented children from all walks of life, engaging them with a rigorous classical curriculum, taught by a well-trained faculty and driven by a set of high expectations that encourages all of us to rise to the highest.
Let’s review the results; a nationally recognized school featuring 2400 high achieving students, a classical curriculum featuring more Advanced Placement courses than any school in the country, a broad fine arts department that is critical to our school mission, a vibrant modern world language program, and over 50 clubs and 90 athletic teams that allow our students to engage, serve, lead and grow as members of the world community.
Through the last 120 years it has become clear that Walnut Hills High School stands above all others as the most important social elevator impacting the children of Cincinnati. Just listen to our alumni and their stories which speak to unparalleled opportunity, personal growth and preparation for their future endeavors.
As a community of learners we will continue to move forward by investigating critical questions regarding the applications of a time-tested curriculum in a modern world community. We invite you to become part of this conversation. By doing so, you stand next to renowned alumni and present students who have taken their positions as leaders in this community and beyond.
Welcome to Walnut Hills High School, a family of learners dedicated to excellence.
