Student Congress

Last updated: Jul 25, 2025, 12:14 p.m.

Student Congress is the sole representative, democratic, deliberative student organization. It is the only organization chartered by the school. It deals with school policy, procedures, and improvements, allowing students to provide input into the greater decision making process.

In addition, Student Congress governs the formation and continuation of other student groups. Proposals for new clubs are considered during the first semester or the month of May.

However, Student Congress is most visible with its events: Homecoming Festivities, Adopt-a-Family, Pep Rallies, Elections and other charity drives and community events are organized by Student Congress each year.

Student Congress is composed of an Executive Board and the Class Councils, which represent High School grades and are responsible for social events. Each Council has four officers and eight Representatives. All Student Congress members are elected in the spring of the previous year, or appointed upon vacancy in the fall. Should anyone be interested in participating in either Class or Congress business, contact the class advisor, anyone of their four officers or 12 representatives. Classes always need help planning dances, running fundraisers, or organizing grade-specific activities. Student Congress meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Schott Recital Hall. All are welcome.
