Biography
Mr. LeBorgne currently teaches AP Music Theory, Symphonic Band and the Steel Drum Bands.
Originally from Wallington, NJ, Mr. LeBorgne earned his B.A. in Music Education from Penn State University (1995) and his M.M. in Percussion Performance from Miami University (2001). He began his teaching career in the Dayton, KY, school system (1996–1999) and has taught at Walnut Hills High School since 2001.
Mr LeBorgne started the steel drum program in the fall of 2002 with just 12 members. The band has grown to between 50-70 students a year. The band has performed at the 2005 and 2012 OMEA Conferences as well as the 2008 MENC conference in Milwaukee, WI.
Mr. LeBorgne’s passion for steel drum music grew through his studies with Dr. Chris Tanner at Miami University. In recognition of his dedication to teaching excellence, he was awarded the Walnut Hills Golden Apple Award in 2002–03.
In his time outside of school Mr. LeBorgne enjoyes working as a personal trainer and basketball official.
