A native of Ocala, Florida, band director Andrew Peoples began playing the trombone in the sixth grade. After being selected for District and State level ensembles in high school, he attended Stetson University majoring in Trombone Performance with Elective Studies in History. In 2003, he began Masters and Doctoral studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he played in the Graduate Brass Quintet and served as the Teaching Assistant for the Trombone Studio for two years. Professionally, Andrew has played with the Cincinnati Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Seven Hills Brass, the Cincinnati Brass Quintet, and various regional orchestras and pit orchestras throughout the region. Additionally, Andrew maintained a vibrant private lesson studio at Mason High School, Milford High School, Finneytown High School, Wyoming High School, and served on the faculty of Xavier University. His primary musical and education mentors include David Schmidt (Stetson University), Bobby Adams (Stetson University), Cristian Ganicenco (Cincinnati Symphony), Lee Rogers (Kennedy Center Orchestra), as well as education mentors Robert Bass, Susan Bass, Avious Jackson, and Micah Ewing.

In 2017, Andrew joined the faculty at Walnut Hills High School where he teaches the beginning, intermediate, and junior bands, as well as a jazz improvisation class and the Walnut Hills Jazz Ensemble. The Jazz Ensemble was selected to perform at the 2020 Ohio Music Educators Association State Conference, has been invited to perform Essentially Ellington Regional Festival eight times, and regularly opens for the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra. Recent graduates have gone on to study jazz at prestigious institutions including the Berklee College of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, the University of Miami, Princeton University, Dartmouth College, and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In addition to music, Andrew is passionate about history, travel, philosophy, and his growing fragrance and record collections.
