Welcome to WHIP!

Who we are: Walnut Hills Instrumentalists Parents, Inc. (WHIP) is the music booster organization that supports our amazing student musicians and faculty. All families of music students at Walnut Hills are automatically a part of WHIP.

What we do: We support the music program at Walnut financially through fundraising and donations. There is a wide gap between the funds necessary to have a quality music program befitting a Walnut Hills education and the resources provided without our efforts. Parents also have many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year in a variety of different roles.

First steps to get involved: We would love to hear from you to learn how you would like to be involved! Please contact Leslie Dragan, fine arts coordinator, at draganl@cpsboe.k12.oh.us to introduce yourself. Another way to learn about our organization is at our WHIP meetings. WHIP meets once a month throughout the school year on the second Monday of the month in the conference room.

Ways to volunteer: Here are a few ways that volunteers can help throughout the year.

  • Volunteer at concerts- take donations and pass out programs
  • Help with fundraisers- there are a variety of roles for every skill set
  • Donate items (food and non-perishable) for fundraisers and events
  • Contribute your thoughts and ideas at monthly WHIP meetings

Become a Patron Donor: Patron donors support the music department financially through tax deductible donations to WHIP. The patron donor fund supplies a large part of the monetary resources which enable WHIP to purchase music and instruments, provide concert attire, bring in guest artists and instructors, provide private lesson scholarships, and much more.
