Counseling Office Procedures 2024-2025

Crisis Situation

If a student has a crisis—the student reports to the teacher---teacher sends the student to counseling suite 2203---if a counselor is not available, Mrs. Christie sends the student to Ms. Flowers (2207) or Ms. Cathey (2218)---if Ms. Flowers and Ms. Cathey are not available, the student will be sent to the nurse.

Non-Crisis Situation

If a student does not have a crisis but wants to talk to their counselor---the student needs to schedule an appt with the counselor (using the links on the Counseling page of the school website) during the student’s study hall.

IF the student does not have a study hall—the student will visit the counselor during lunch or check to see if the counselor has before or after school appointments. Students are also welcome to email their counselor to figure out a meeting solution.

It is also okay for teachers to send a student and/or call a counselor’s office to see if they are available during non-academic time (ie. free bell, make up work time, or wellness days). Students don’t need an appointment in this case, but they do need a pass from the teacher.
