Math Placement Testing Registration for Incoming 7th Grade Students

2022-2023 School Year

Incoming 7th Graders

Incoming 7th graders are placed into Accelerated 7. This is a rigorous, fast-paced, challenging course, which covers concepts from both Math 7 and Math 8 in a standard curriculum. Taking this class as a 7th grader allows the student access to all of the highest math classes offered at Walnut by their senior year.

For students who scored a 90 or above on the math portion of the SCPP test, Algebra 1 AA is an alternative math course option for 7th grade. Students who meet this criteria and are interested in taking Algebra 1 AA should register for the Math Placement Test through the link below. The math department will make a recommendation based on these test results to determine if Accelerated 7 or Algebra 1 AA is the better fit for the student. Be mindful of all aspects of Walnut life and impactful changes to student habits students must manage when considering this path.
